Topology Atlas was founded by Dmitri Shakhmatov and Stephen Watson in 1995. Topology Atlas was designed to be a comprehensive online resource for mathematicians and the general public with some interest in topology. We tried to accommodate and include any topic in mathematics or computer science related to topology. Our purposes were twofold: to make the mathematical and scientific community aware of what topologists do; and to bring together topologists in the world community, establish communication, and promote joint work.
